In February 2023, Katherine, Thomas and their 2 young children moved into their modern new build family home, where they have been enjoying the benefits of a BEAM Heat Recovery Ventilation System ever since.
For Katherine & Thomas, installing a Heat Recovery Ventilation System was at the top of their list when they were planning to build. They previously experienced poor indoor air quality in their last home which affected their daughter’s asthma symptoms.
“Our daughter had been diagnosed with asthma and in our previous house she would have coughed all night. We heard a Heat Recovery Ventilation System could help with this as the air coming into the house is filtered. After lots of research and recommendations from family and friends, we went with BEAM because it's a high-quality company.”

Clean & Healthy Indoor Air
After moving into their home, the family noticed the benefits of a BEAM Heat Recovery Ventilation System almost immediately.

BEAM’s Heat Recovery Ventilation System provides clean & healthy indoor air by extracting stale, moist air from the home. Simultaneously, fresh air is drawn in from outside, filtered to remove any pollutants and warmed before being distributed throughout the home.
As well as health benefits, the constant supply of clean air leaves the family’s home feeling and smelling fresh.
“There are never any bad smells in the house – it always smells fresh, even in the bedrooms and after cooking.”

Ventilation is Key
Normal household activities, such as cooking, showering and even breathing, create moisture in the air which leads to condensation and eventually mould. Adequate ventilation is the key to reducing moisture and condensation.
Condensation commonly forms on bedroom windows. At night, many sleep with windows, curtains and doors closed. Temperatures are usually the lowest at night, and so condensation forms at the coolest points of the room - windows and external walls.
A Heat Recovery Ventilation System from BEAM gently ventilates rooms to help reduce condensation.
Katherine has noticed a reduction in the amount of condensation on their windows since having their Heat Recovery System installed.
“In the bedrooms there’s no condensation on the windows and there’s less steam after showering!”
